Ipsy Glam Bag: March

Glam Bag March

Glam Bag March

I must say, Ipsy has been on a roll these past two months. I’ve been very happy with what’s coming every month. Granted, this month, I got another Be A Bombshell product and nail polish, both of which I’ve gotten a lot of lately. But you know what, I don’t mind because I’ve been impressed with the Be A Bombshell products and you know, I can always give the nail polishes to a friend. Anyway, here’s what’s up with this month’s bag.

The bag itself is interesting. Ipsy has started a collaboration with artists to design their bags. This one was designed by a San Francisco artist named Klari Reis and is supposed to mimic the city layout of San Francisco. To me, it looks like when you look through a microscope at onion peels…in technicolor. I kind of like it.

Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad in Bora Bora – I’m really impressed with the quality of these shadows! They are smooth and easily blended. While you’d have to add some extra shadows to get a full look from the palette, the colors are gorgeous! I especially love the vivid blue-green color.

Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer – A primer that adds glow and hydrates? Sign me up! For me and my dry skin, this primer gives a great luminosity for under my more matte foundations. I really like it.

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready – First off, I love anything nugget size so the cute little mini lipstick had me at first sight. I love the Marvelous Moxie glosses but had not tried the lipsticks yet. They are really a great, creamy formula. I’ll have to look into what other colors they have in the line.

Nicole by OPI Roughles Nail Polish in On What Grounds? – This color reminds me of Robin’s Eggs! Perfect for Spring. I’m not entirely sold on the ‘rough’ texture, though. I’m not sure if I love it or hate it. The jury’s still out.

So Ipsy’s been hitting some home runs lately. You know you want to get in on the action!!!!!

Ipsy Glam Bag: February

Glam Bag February

Glam Bag February

Hey there Ipsters. I’m going to cut to the chase and go ahead and say that this is my favorite Ipsy bag that I’ve received thus far. The only thing that was remotely disappointing was the bag which was just plain pink . But I don’t subscribe to Ipsy for the bag, I subscribe to try new products and these ones are really exciting.

NUME Intense Renewal Hair Mask – I have never tried anything from NUME but I’ve heard good things about their products. I’ve been making an effort to take better care of my hair so this was right up my alley. It made my hair feel like silk and I can’t be mad at that.

POP Beauty Plump Pout Mini in Peony Petal – I was a little hesitant after not loving the lip crayon from POP in a previous box. This, totally made up for it! First off, the packaging is precious…I love anything tiny. The formula is very creamy and full color but not overly sticky. The color Peony Petal is a very pretty rosy pink that would look good with a ton of different looks. I’m interested in trying out some more of these

Tini Beauty Eyetini Cream Shadow in Spiced Rum – This beautiful bronzey cream shadow was a pleasant surprise. Cream shadows can either go on patchy or crease and this one does neither. It goes on super opaque and metallic and blends out just enough so that you don’t have any harsh lines.

City Color Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon – What a GORGEOUS color for Spring. I couldn’t get the color to show up right on camera but it’s a bright melon…as the name suggests. It doesn’t go on powdery or patchy and I’m excited to wear it come Spring. Not to mention, it’s huge so it’ll last forever.

Zoya Polish in Odette – This color is right on trend for Spring. Orchid is were it’s at! I love the formula of Zoya polish and this color is a great addition to my growing collection.

So yeah, I’m pretty much in love with all of the products this month. Way to go Ipsy!

Ipsy Glam Bag: January

January Glam Bag

January Glam Bag

So when I was getting this post together, I realized that I never posted about my December Glam Bag. I think with the holidays and the slew of packages that were coming to our apartment, it got lost in the mix. But I remember not being mad at it. Now let’s move along to January’s edition. The bag is cute. The blue with the cosmetic product shadows reminds me of a makeup skyline. The one thing that did strike me when I took it out of the package though, was the smell. Something with the design or manufacturing had a very heavy plasticky, pool float, smell…which is not what I want to smell in or around my makeup products. But it’s aired out fairly well, so I digress.

The Products:
Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow Creamy Eye Pencil: I don’t love nor do I hate this. It’s a pretty color and very creamy and easy to apply. I suppose you could use this as a liner (which I would think would be pretty as a little pop on the lower lash line) or as a base for a shadow. The pencil is quite thin so you would be shading for a long while to cover the entire lid. The one thing that does bother me is that in one swipe, you don’t get as opaque of a color as I would like. The product has a good amount of shimmer/glitter and it takes at least two swipes to get up to an intensity I like.

Absolute! Makeup Wipes: I’m a big fan of makeup wipes. Sometimes, you just don’t have it in you to scrub and wash and all that jazz before bed. My eyes are super sensitive and will burn easily but I had no problem with these. Loved the cucumber scent, also. Altogether, a win.

Lee Anni 3 in 1 Revolotion Face Cream: I’m a smell person. I sniff everything before I put it on my face. Let me tell you ladies, this smelled so bad, that I couldn’t bear to put it anywhere near my face. I can’t even. It will be going in the trash. Plus, the packaging reminded me of something that someone packaged in the homeroom chemistry class.

Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave in Conditioner: SCORE! I’ve been mulling over purchasing the full size of this for a while now so I’m super excited to have a little travel size to try first. I wear leave in conditioners every day and am always on the lookout for my next fave. I’ve been happy with everything that I’ve tried from the ‘Sexy Hair’ lines so far.

Mica Beauty Cosmetics Tinted Lip Balm in Fiesta: I feel like I’ve said this before with an item from an Ipsy bag but a lip balm should be moisturizing. This is more of a lip stain. That being said, though, I like it. I just think it’s not labeled correctly. The color is very pretty and if I put a stain or a gloss over it, it feels fine on the lips and lasts for a good while. I’ll get good use out of it.

So there is the Ipsy run down for January. You guys get anything good? I went to IMATS last week and picked up a bunch of fun makeup goodies while in Cali so look out for some new reviews and looks!
