Bye Bye Winter!

See ya Winter!

See ya Winter!

Today is the first day of Spring which makes it the LAST day of winter. Officially. Hopefully. I know you’re thinking, “Savannah, you live in Texas, what do you know about winter?!?” I’m here to tell you, that for a Texas girl, it’s been COLD this year. I’m more than happy to move on to the warmer months! One last winter look was in order, though, before I bust out the pastels and baby pinks! Here it is:
Burgundy Eyes

Burgundy Eyes

Eyes:
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Rust
Jouer Eyeshadows in Bordeaux, Buttercream, and Chestnut
Jordana Fabuliner for Eyes
Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara
MAC Omega Eyeshadow in Brows
Mally Evercolor Eyeliner in Onyx

Rich, burgundy colors are going to be some of my most missed come the Spring. Hopefully, they will be back on trend for next Fall/Winter because I just love the way they look on the eyes. (And lips, for that matter!) I started out by placing the Jumbo Eye Pencil in Rust all over my lid up to the crease as a base color. Then I blended out the pencil and added definition to the crease with Chestnut from Jouer. (Side Note: The Jouer Shadows are new to me but they do NOT disappoint…I may have already ordered a couple more…) Then I packed Bordeaux over the area where I had placed the Rust pencil to give a rich, well, Bordeaux color! I then took the Buttercream shadow to highlight my browbone inner corner. I ran some black liner in the waterline and smudged the Rust pencil on the bottom lash line as well. Some winged liner on the top lash line sealed the deal.

Face:
Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation
Inglot YSM Foundation
Hourglass Dim Light Ambient Lighting Powder
MAC Select Cover Up
Maybelline Blush in Mauve

Lips:
IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Stain in Damsel

Are you all sad to see Winter go? What trends are you sad to leave behind? Which ones are you looking forward to for Spring? Anything I need to try? Holler at me!

Snow Day Glam

Snow Day Glam

Snow Day Glam

So today, we woke up to Snow. Not nasty ice, not sleet, actual fluffy snow!!! Well bust out the cashmere and smokey eye and let’s go! I used some new items in this look that I have picked up recently and found a new love. The Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks. Why haven’t I tried these before?! I got the color Native which is a pretty pinky nude and the formula of these blew me away. They are so creamy and moisturizing. Because it was hella cold today, moisture was definitely on the menu! I need more….like now! Anyway, here is the look I created with some new Inglot shadows I got at IMATS. I LOVE Inglot shadows but it’s too much of a hassle to pry them out of the pan to get the name of them. Plus, the names are just numbers and impossible to remember. If you are really interested in a color, let me know and I’ll pry it out of the pan. Just for you!
Brr!

Eyes:
Essence I Heart Stage Shadow Base
Covergirl Bombshell Shine Shadow in Platinum Club
Inglot Shadows
Maybelline Color Tattoo Pigment in Barely Brazen
Mally Evercolor Liner in Onyx
Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
Smokey Eye

Smokey Eye

I primed my eyes with Essence I **Heart** Stage eyeshadow base to give an even canvas to start with. To intensify the grey in the Inglot shadow I used on the lid I put down Covergirl Bombshell Shine Shadow in Platinum Club as a base color from lash line to the crease. I used a sparkly blueish-grey all over the lid and blended it out with a satin cornflower blue. Then I used a matte midtone brown from one of their trio pans to blend out the blue. As a browbone and inner corner highlight I wanted something sparkly so I used Maybelline Color Tattoo Pigment in Barely Brazen. I smudged out the Mally Evercolor Eyeliner in Onyx with more of the blue-grey shade for a smokey effect near the lash line.

Face:
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
Benefit Oh La Lift
ELF Mineral Concealer
The Balm Sexy Mama Translucent Powder
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Becca Pressed Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone
Inglot Blush
NYX Push Up Bra for Eyes

For the Face, I wanted a fresh dewy look since it was SO cold and my skin has been quite dry. Not to mention my allergies and sinuses have been going nuts and the undereye circles needed some extra manpower. Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation is a FAB dewy finish foundation. Rimmel: If you’re reading this, start selling this stuff in America! It’s one of my faves. Like I mentioned, the undereye area needed some extra attention with the Wake Me Up Concealer and the pink toned Benefit Oh La Lift for some extra oomph! I set it with the ELF Mineral Concealer. Since I like the finish and color match of the Rimmel foundation, I stuck with a light dusting of the Balm Sexy Mama powder just to make sure nothing moved. The Inglot blush I used is similar to MAC’s Well Dressed but slightly less pink, if you’re familiar. It gives a great, ‘I just came out of the snow’ look even when you’ve been sitting on the couch for 3 hours watching Law & Order: SVU….not that I do that or anything….Hoola Bronzer to warm up the face and the GORGEOUS Becca Highlight completed the face. Get you one of the Becca highlighters, y’all. I promise you won’t regret it!

Lips:
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Native

So there you have it! My Snow Day Glam. I hope everyone is staying nice and warm!

Loving Lately: Face Sprays

Urban Decay B6 Spray

Urban Decay B6 Spray

So, it’s cold in Texas. Like, we were iced in for 3 days cold. I’m sure if you have anyone on your Facebook in the DFW area, you’ve already heard about it. Us Texans, we don’t do the cold. Or ice. Especially ice. With the cold weather comes dry skin. And if you are like me, and your skin leans toward being dry year round, this super cold weather can cause a real problem. In an effort to keep my skin looking good and moisturized during these months, I have taken to using facial sprays. I’m not talking about setting sprays, which I use everyday to set my makeup, but I’m talking about sprays that purely are for skincare or hydration. The one I’ve been using the most has been the Urban Decay B6 Prep Spray. This is a spray that I put on before even my moisturizer that Urban Decay says absorbs oil, minimizes pores, and reduces redness. You can also spritz it on during the day for a little pick me up and it won’t ruin your makeup. It absorbs quickly into the skin and I really like the way that it makes my face feel. Believe it or not, I have noticed that my pores are appearing a little bit smaller. Who knows, it might be in my head but at the very least, I haven’t had my super read, flakey winter skin yet….so something is working!

Has anyone else tried this stuff? Did you see any results? What’s your trick to combat the harshness of the cold weather months?

I’m Back! (With a Naked 2 Fall Look)

Hello there all my Fierce Faced readers! I’ve been a little MIA lately with the holiday season starting up and travels. I apologize. But I’m back and excited to show some new looks and new favorite goodies!

Fall Naked 2

Fall Naked 2

I thought I’d come back with a look featuring one of the MOST popular palettes, like, EVER! The Naked 2. And yes ladies, I’m going to probably get the Naked 3. I’m a total sucker for a good pinky nude look and that palette can provide them in spades. Dang it Urban Decay and your knack for making amazing palettes!!! But I digress. The weather here in DFW had totally been on drugs so it’s been really hard to stay with the darker, fall looks when it’s 80 freaking degrees outside!! But I try. And here’s one that I came up with:
Fall Naked 2 Eyes

Gift Guide: UD Shattered Face Case

First off: I’m very sorry for not getting this up yesterday as promised, I’m here in Missouri visiting my Sister and we were out all day visiting and what not. My apologies

Next: I swear that this item is available at Sephora but I can’t find a link to it on their website. I did find it on Beauty.com who is having a 20% off sale until Midnight Pacific time! Get it fast!
Face Case
The Shattered Face case is a limited edition ‘box’ from Urban Decay that features 5 eyeshadows, 2 blushes, a highlight, an about 1/2 size 24/7 liner in Zero and a full size Super Saturated Lip Color in Lovechild. There is another Face Case called Anarchy that contains the same amount of products but more neutrals and a deeper, red lip color. But back to the item at hand. The eyeshadows are really beautiful, I think. From left to right, a sparkly gunmetal, purple with pinky-purple glitter, a satin taupe, a satin peach, and a matte yellow neutral (similar to Foxy). All the shadows perform at the quality you would expect from Urban Decay. The peach and bright pink blush have great pigmentation as well and the highlight, I think would make a great eyeshadow on its own. Of course, I’m always a fan of the 24/7 pencils and the Super Saturated lip colors last like a dream.

Top Row: Shadows (L-R) Bottom Row: Lip Color, Blushes, Highlight

Top Row: Shadows (L-R)
Bottom Row: Lip Color, Blushes, Highlight

For $44, you get a decent amount of product in a cute, economically sized box. This would be an AWESOME gift for someone who travels a lot. I think you could get a multitude of natural and glam looks from the shadows and even more if you throw in the ‘highlight’ color as an eyeshadow.

Final Verdict: Don’t Haste on the Case!

Kitten Face

Kitten Face

The Government is shut down….let’s talk about makeup. With the dark mood going on across the country, I’d thought I’d share a bright, clean look featuring Stila’s famous eyeshadow in Kitten. It really doesn’t get any better for a shimmery shade than Kitten. I highly suggest you try it out if you haven’t before. Here’s a happy look to brighten up your dark day! Meow!

Ipsy Glam Bag: August

August Glam Bag

August Glam Bag

Hey there Glam Bag Fans! I finally got around to testing out some of the products in my August Ipsy bag. Here’s what I got in August:

First off, the Bag itself is super cute. It’s a pretty magenta color with a gold ‘Glamour Academy’ crest on it. After last month’s ‘plain’ bag, this one was a pleasant surprise.

Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub: This is the one thing out of the bag that I haven’t tried yet but I’ve never heard anything but good things about Michael Todd Products so I’m sure it will be great. Plus, charcoal is all the rage right now and I love being trendy. I look forward to scrubbing my face.

Mica Beauty Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Bronze: I was ready to not like this because I’m not a big fan of loose pigment eyeshadows but I was pretty surprised. The shimmer is super fine and color gorgeous. I used it on my eyes over a creme shadow and it looked applied really well. It would also be really pretty if you used it really lightly as a highlight or add a small amount to your liquid foundation to give it a bronzy glow.

Pixi Lash Booster Mascara: I really wanted to like this but I just don’t. It didn’t do my lashes any favors. I like to load on mascara and after one coat it started getting clumpy. It didn’t smudge or flake so it does get points in that department.

Pacifica Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream: Now if you’re thinking that this is going to give you flawless coverage, you’re not going to be impressed. BUT, as a primer it’s pretty darn good. It seemed to make my skin more even and blurred my pores and lines. It actually made my face feel pretty smooth. I dig it.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Anarchy: First of all, is this not the cutest nugget lipstick ever! This is my fave thing in the bag. It’s hard to impress me with lipsticks, just because I think that they are all more or less the same. I tend not to buy higher end lipsticks because, let’s be serious, they are all going to wear off sooner or later. This lipstick is kind of the bomb. It feels great on the lips, looks smooth and wears like crazy. The Anarchy color is really pretty on me also. I’m going to have to try out some others in full size.

Overall, Another great Glam Bag! You can get the fun goodies too! Click the link:

Savy, Where you at?!

Hello there Ladies! (And Gents, I don’t discriminate!) I’ve been lacking on the posts lately and I apologize. August has been kind of bananas with my Birthday, work stuff and various trips so I haven’t been able to get a good solid blog together in a hot second. But never fear, with all of the things happening lately, we have a LOT to catch up on!

I blogged a quick photo of the look I wore on my birthday which featured The Original Sleek Makeup iDivine Palette and my Temptu airbrush makeup. Both are products that I would like to do an in depth review on. I’ve had the Temptu for a few years now and completely love it and Sleek Makeup is a newly discovered brand that has impressed me immensely.

When we returned from Vegas I had two subscription services waiting for me! My Summer QVC New Beauty Test Tube and my Ipsy August Glam Bag. Truth be told, I haven’t had a chance to try out anything in either of them yet. Once I get a chance to try out a decent amount of the products from each, I’ll give you guys a review. I will say that the actual Ipsy Bag this month was adorable!

With a Birthday, comes gifts. And with me, it’s usually gifts in the form of makeup store gift cards. I have gotten a TON of new products that I’m excited to try and tell you all about. In Vegas I hit up the Inglot store and got some more of their amazing product. All of their products have been nothing less than impressive! With gift cards, I managed to acquire three new palettes: The Too-Faced Loves Sephora, Too-Faced Pretty Rebel, and (the last person on earth to get it) The Naked 2 Palette by Urban Decay. Keep your eyes out for upcoming looks using those gems!

This past weekend I did 2 Savy Seminars with two lovely lady friends. We had a great time talking makeup, drinking wine, and shopping at Ulta and CVS. Everyone had a blast as I pushed them out of their usual color comfort zone. I love passing on the love and knowledge of makeup to others. A Client loving their finished look is such a great feeling! Book your Savy Seminar and we can have fun together too! 😉

Lastly, I have a back log of looks to share with you all and look forward to getting back in to the blog groove! If there are any products I’ve mentioned that you would like me to review or do certain looks with, please let me know!

Keep Being Fierce
-Savy

When Ulta and Sephora Happen

All I really have to say is Guilty. I’m so Guilty! I have absolutely no business buying new beauty products but the Shopping Gods called….and (un)fortunately, I answered! I did end up picking up some things that I had been eyeballing/hearing good stuff about. I picked up Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Uzi, NYX Push Up Bra for Eyebrows and NYX Love in Florence Eyeshadow Pallet in Ciao Bella.

Ulta/Sephora Goodies

Ulta/Sephora Goodies

The Blush: This stuff is legit. I’ve heard nothing but raves about it and it seriously lives up to the hype! I tend to touch my face a lot (a bad habit, I know), and this stuff stayed put for real! The color is a perfect matte, nude that I think would be flattering on a lot of people. $26 is a bit much to spend on a blush but I didn’t need a lot and it stayed all day so I’ll definitely be buying more colors.

The Eyeliner: I’m obsessed with the color of this! Grey eyeliners are my go to for summer and this is a great one to add to my collection. It has a metallic finish that really looks like gun metal on the eye. On the eyelid, it performed splendidly but it didn’t stay on my waterline as long as I had hoped. Still on the hunt for that perfect stay put eyeliner that won’t creep down into my ‘laugh lines’. The color is amazing though, like I said.

The Brow Product: This little nugget is a two in one brow pencil/highlight. The highlight end is exactly like Benefit’s Eye Bright and the brow end is a real great ‘universal’ brow pencil. I’m always skeptical of ‘universal’ products but this particular color works for my brows. With a light hand, it’s not too dark and not red at all. I don’t think this would work for people with hair much lighter than mine. The pencil is not too soft or waxy and applies the color to your brows in a way that looks very natural, not ‘drawn’. (If that makes any sense) Given that the Eye Bright alone is $20, you can go and get this nugget for only $9.99 and have the brightener AND a great eye pencil all in one! I say, DEAL!

The Shadow Palette: I’ve been drawn to this palette ever since I spotted it online. I’ve even picked it up in the store and put it back down several times because my rational mind was going: “You DON’T need anymore eye palettes!” Well NYX items were buy one and get one 50% off. I knew I wanted the Push Up Bra (hehe) but couldn’t find anything else I wanted so I went ahead and caved. NYX Eyeshadows are hit and miss, in my opinion. Some perform beautifully, while some tend to be un-pigmented and chalky. When I swatched them on my hand without primer, the coral and satin grey weren’t very pigmented. I applied them to the eyes with some primer and the coral ended up being beautiful but I still couldn’t get anything out of the grey. The ‘highlight’ color and smokey color are excellent and the super shimmery grey is a fun way to add some glam to a look. Overall, I’m happy that I got it. I feel like I’m going to be able to get a lot of different looks out of this little palette.

So there’s a little review of the little (unnecessary) nuggets that I picked up…and of COURSE I had to use them ALL in a look. They actually all paired quite nicely together.

Naked Week: Day 5

Day 5

Day 5

So I made it to Friday! We all did! Let’s give ourselves a high five!! This marks the last day of Nude Week. I had a lot of fun trying to come up with a different look everyday. Let me know if you guys liked this also and maybe I can do another similar challenge using some of my other palettes. I call today’s makeup my Casual Friday Face. This is what I would say is a pretty typical, everyday Savy makeup look.
Naked Friday

Naked Friday

The Eye Breakdown:
I prepped the eye with my MAC Select Cover-Up. From the palette, I used Venus all over the lid, from lash line to brow bone. I then put Naked 2 on the lid up to the crease. In lieu of a liner, I shadow lined my eyes with Crave on the top and bottom then put som NYC Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Moody Blue in the waterline. (Savy Tip: A navy blue eyeliner really makes the whites of your eyes appear more white!) On the lashes I used Maybelline The Colossal Volum Express on top and bottom. A very simple eye but I think it really makes the eyes pop!
Looking to the Weekend!

Looking to the Weekend!

On the rest of my face:

Benefit Sugarbomb Box Blush
Benefit Instant Brow Pencil in Light (I FINALLY went and got them threaded!)
Maybelline Color Whisper in Berry Ready

Which Naked Day did you like the best? I challenge you guys to take one of your palettes and do the same thing! It’ll really make you take a second look at your palette and try some combos that you maybe haven’t thought of before!
